How to improve your speaking skills?
Just think about this simple exercise:
A cat. A cat sat. A cat sat on a mat. A cat sat on a brown mat. A grey cat sat on a brown mat. A grey fat cat sat on a brown fur mat.
Then try to change some words. A grey fat cat sat on a brown fur RUG.
Some more changes: A grey FLUFFY cat sat on a brown fur RUG.
Once more: A SILVER SHADED FLUFFY cat sat on a brown fur RUG.
And then: A SILVER SHADED FLUFFY KITTEN sat on a brown fur RUG.
Once more: A SILVER SHADED FLUFFY KITTEN WAS SITTING on a brown fur RUG.
Some more changes: A SILVER SHADED FLUFFY KITTEN WAS SITTING on a CHESTNUT fur RUG.
Let's add more positive changes: A SILVER SHADED FLUFFY KITTEN WAS SITTING on a CHESTNUT FAUX-FUR RUG.
And last but not least: The silver shaded fluffy kitten was sitting on a chestnut faux-fur rug.
Quite an interesting exercise, huh? Try to do that orally, not in a written, but in a speaking form.
The more elaborate, complicated, interesting, sophisticated sentences you would produce, the faster you would create them, the more fluent, flawless, and confident speaker you would become.
To be an eloquent, confident speaker is an important thing. Your speeches should be logical, sometimes pathetic, but with deep thought and good content.
If it is hard for you yet to create such sentences when you speak, you can try to write to them and then read them out loud. You can read them to your cat, your dog, your neighbour, partner, friends, classmates or groupmates, and even better, you can read them to us. We will correct you eagerly, improve your speech and will help you to produce impressive, thought-provoking, appealing speeches, being a confident and amazing speaker.
Just try! Book a lesson. A fluffy kitten is waiting for you. ;-)
